How to prepare a cheat-sheet for OmniPen?
Creating a cheat-sheet PDF.
The OmniPen application accepts PDF files for display. This convenient format allows you to continuously (by scrolling) view the content you put in it. In addition, a high compression ratio keeps the file at an optimal size.
Important!
In order to be able to conveniently use the cheat sheet in the OmniPen application, we need to pay attention to two basic things:
1) Font size (size of drawings) adapted to the screen size of the smartphone (tablet) and screen orientation.
The point is that the cheat sheet should be readable on the screen without the need to zoom in and from the distance from which we want to use it. It is worth trying out the font sizes and dimensions of the images.
2) The weight of the finished PDF file with the cheat sheet cannot be too heavy so that your smartphone does not "crop" when displayed. Not every phone is a speed demon, and it is enough to reduce the size of photos and images placed in the PDF file. The lighter the PDF with the cheat sheet, the more comfortable it will be!
To create a PDF file from photos, notes or text files, you can use several methods depending on the operating system you are using. Here are the steps you can take:
1. Windows (without additional software)
On Windows, you have a built-in option to create a PDF from images.
- Select all the photos you want to add to the PDF (click on the first image, then hold down Ctrl and click on the others). Right-click on the selected photos and select Print. In the "Print" window, select "Microsoft Print to PDF" as your printer. Choose the paper size and other settings that suit you. Click Print, then select where you want to save the PDF.
- Another way is to use a WORD editor. We create content by pasting the necessary information on the pages and then print it by selecting "Microsoft Print to PDF" as the printer.
2. Mac (macOS)
On Mac, you can also easily create a PDF from images using the built-in Preview app.
- Steps:
Open all photos in Preview (you can do this by selecting them all and right-clicking, then "Open with Preview").
In Preview, click File → Print.
At the bottom of the window, click PDF, and then select Save as PDF.
Choose a name and where you want to save the PDF.
3. Online (No need to install software)
There are many websites that allow you to convert photos to PDF. Here are some examples:
- SmallPDF (smallpdf.com) – Easily convert photos (including JPG) to PDF.
- ILovePDF (ilovepdf.com) also offers simple conversion of photos to PDF.
- Steps:
Go to one of the above-mentioned pages.
Select the photos you want to add to the PDF.
Set the order and other preferences, then click the button to create a PDF.
Download the generated PDF file to your device.
4. PDF editing programs (e.g., Adobe Acrobat)
You can also use professional programs like Adobe Acrobat to create a PDF from images.
- Steps in Adobe Acrobat:
Open Adobe Acrobat.
Select Create PDF and select the photos you want to add.
Organize the order of your photos, if necessary, and click Create.
Save the PDF to your device.
5. Mobile Apps (iOS/Android)
You can also use mobile apps to create PDFs from images, such as:
- CamScanner (available on Android and iOS)
- Adobe Scan (available for Android and iOS)
- Steps:
Install one of the apps on your phone.
Open the app and select the option to scan or add photos.
Select photos from the gallery.
Save them as a PDF file in the app.
All of these methods are easy to do and allow you to quickly create a PDF from your photos. Choose the one that best suits your needs!
